In der Auflösungsphase der Beatles wandte sich John Lennon künstlerisch neuen Gebieten zu. Nach der Trennung der Beatles startete Lennon eine erfolgreiche Solokarriere mit Alben wie Imagine (1971) und Double Fantasy (1980).
